Welcome

“Be still like a mountain and flow like a great river” (Lao Tzu)

My educational background includes a B.S. from Georgetown University (1982).  I began my journey with Traditional Chinese Medicine as a patient when living in the Bay Area in the mid-80s.  Not only did it heal my ailments at the time, I realized during the course of my treatment that I had discovered the work I was meant to do this lifetime.  I began the groundwork towards that eventual goal by studying at the Berkeley Acupressure Institute and gaining my Certificate in Acupressure (1988).

In the early 90s, with two children and a third on the way I embarked on this course of study at the Midwest College for the Study of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL.  In 1997 I graduated and passed my National Board Exams in Acupuncture placing in the top 3% of the nation’s Diplomates.

After graduating and passing the Board Exam, I began my practice and also assistant taught Point Location at the Midwest College.  I continued my studies by working with Mary Kay Ryan, author of “Treating AIDS With Chinese Medicine”  in Oak Park, IL. I also co-wrote with Ms. Ryan an article on Weight Issues: Body Image & Eating Disorders in Women.

In 1999 we relocated to Lake County, IL, where I have been practicing ever since.
